In Food Banks Canada’s HungerCount 2022, in March 2022, there were nearly 1.5 million visits to food banks in Canada, the highest March usage on record even though unemployment rates were at their lowest on record in the same month.

This holiday season, CIFST asks that you make a monetary donation to Food Banks Canada, a national charitable organization dedicated to helping Canadians living with food insecurity. They support a network of Provincial Associations and approximately 4,700 food agencies and affiliate food banks that work at the community level to relieve hunger. Their work is focused on maximizing collective impact, strengthening local capacity, and reducing the need for food banks.

Food Banks Canada also offers several programs that help food banks enhance their ability to acquire a safe and steady supply of nutritious food and distribute it to people in their communities. Their programs also help food banks to deliver a range of other supports, including education and skills training in nutrition, meal planning, food preparation, and food growing.

We have set up a Food Banks Canada donation page to help meet our goal of $2500 over this holiday season. Donate HERE.
