Last year, Canadians made 1.1 million visits to food banks per month. This means that every single day of the week, individuals in this country are struggling to provide meals to nourish their families. At the best of times, the holidays can be stressful but with the impact of COVID-19, many families are unable to pay their bills and afford to buy healthy, nutritious food.

This holiday season, CIFST asks that you make a monetary donation to Food Banks Canada, a national charitable organization dedicated to helping Canadians living with food insecurity. They support a network of Provincial Associations, affiliate food banks, and food agencies that work at the community level to relieve hunger. Their work is focused on maximizing collective impact, strengthening local capacity, and reducing the need for food banks.

They also offer several programs that help food banks enhance their ability to acquire a safe and steady supply of nutritious food and distribute it to people in their communities. Their programs also help food banks to deliver a range of other supports, including education and skills training in nutrition, meal planning, food preparation, and food growing.
